ABOUT Neiki

Neiki was born in Tuscaloosa, Al and moved to New Orleans before making Houston her permanent home with her parents. Though Neiki has been in Houston since the age of 12, she lets it be known that she is an Alabamian and that is home. She is the proud mother of one daughter, Destiny.

Neiki has won several awards during the course of her community philanthropy but the one award that she is most proud of is the National Council of Negro Women’s Bethune Award for her contributions to young women of color in the Houston Community. Neiki was also featured in Voyage Houston Magazine for her Non-Profit Organization. Neiki published her first book entitled, "When the Pieces Begin to Fit". "When the Pieces Begin to Fit" is an insightful look into the life of the author. On the pages of this book, Neiki speaks on her struggles with low self-esteem, a suicide attempt, her divorce, and not being complete. For many years, she viewed herself as "less than," not realizing that GOD had equipped her with a purpose: Her tragic experiences would help others persevere through their own moments of uncertainty. Neiki understands all too well the issues that plague our society, including rejection, abandonment, low self-esteem, wanting to fit in, and suicide because she went through them all.

Her personal struggle with self-worth resonates with many young women and men in our communities today. Neiki freed herself from the bondage of self-doubt and built Neiki Speaks, LLC to provide encouragement to those who feel as though they are on the verge of giving up. To be the voice to those who seem voiceless or have been muted. To help guide through the expected and unexpected twists and turns of life.

Neiki understands the difficulties and challenges we face in today’s world. Neiki used the bad and turned into good Neiki has a heart for all people but her heart is more sensitive to those who are needing a lending hand to help encourage and live beyond life’s challenges and to help people understand who they are and regardless of their challenge they can rise above. Neiki never wants anyone to feel that they are alone or that no one cares and that is why Neiki Speaks, LLC gives a no-judgment zone so that people can feel comfortable and know that someone cares. Neiki believes in the verse that says, “As a man thinketh so is he” and she understands that it all starts in the mind and changing the mindset from past hurts or words can be a challenge but she believes that CHANGE is possible.
